Kingdom Hearts keyblades from Play Arts

Clockwise from middle: Oath Keeper, Oblivion, Wishing Lamp, Ultima Weapon from KH, Ultima Weapon from KH2

Been awhile since I felt excited about anything Square Enix. But Play Arts recent offering of Kingdom Hearts keyblades looks mighty interesting. The set includes 5 different keyblades, each measuring 11cm to 13cm long. Of course, I'm hoping they'll be compatible for use with 1/6 figures*. :3

Pre-orders will be available soon from Play-Asia. They offer free shipping to Singapore. So I'm really tempted.

*For example, the Master Arms weapons collection seen here. Although they purport to be 1/6 scale, they seemed a bit too large when I checked them out in-person. The gunblade handles didn't look like they'd fit your standard 1/6 body. So much for the idea of a Seifer custom with his kick-ass gunblade. :S

Play Arts figures are around the 6" scales, so those weapons won't be able to fit 1/6th figures.

Oops. but i am not sure if these are in scale with the Play Arts figures thought. :P

Yeah, I know those Play Arts figures are pretty small. To top it off, Kingdom Hearts' characters are designed with non-realistic proportions in mind. If we had a measurement of Play Arts Sora's keyblade, we'd know for sure. :)

On a different note, I'm not collecting figures like these anymore because of the influx of bootleg versions. What a drag.

Lol Sket, welcome aboard the Square gravy train. Final Fantasy is becoming for Square Enix what Star Wars is to George Lucas (and sadly LucasArts). They're still producing other titles other than Final Fantasy, so they haven't fallen completely to commercial interests.

The FFVII potion replicas? I didn't feel the urge to buy those, although the bottles are nice (the drink has too many herbal ingredients to whet my tastebuds). We bought the can version in Japan. They were showing commercials for it on tv. Quite ridiculous/hilarious, depending how you look at it...

eh zack in FFVII advert? the portion replica is selling at SGD70. aha, u got those can drinks. nice. i've sold my adventchildren dvd now i'm ordering the 2disc again. think after crisis core i might try out FF:tactics (lion) on psp. i hope to have a playarts FFVII figure. if only they have angeal or zack, tho the harley daytona + cloud seems pretty neat. the figure articulation seems pretty decent.

Cloud and his Hardy Daytona do make a nice display. I feel like buying just the Play Arts Aerith, but she's probably hard to find now at the original retail price. Cloud and his bike were going at somewhere around $80-$90 at Comics Connection. Not sure, but you can probably find it cheaper elsewhere. (CC, though a neighbourhood mall fixture, has some insane practice of marking-up.)

i've seen aerith at funzcentre [gameshop] at amk hub at $60. i guess that shldnt be the original retail price.

Oooh, thanks for the tip. I saw Aerith at the comics store in Bugis Junction, but they only sold her in a set. Quality's decent, but she's too small to fit with the rest of my collection. I'm probably making my own since I've set aside anything that could come in handy. A small woven basket for Aerith, a fur wig for Cloud...

And I need to correct myself about the Cloud and Hardy Daytona set. It's $130 at CC. My apologies. XD

I sized up a Play Arts Sora's keyblade recently, and the Play Arts keyblades are likely to follow the same scale. that is, not 1/6.

and how can i purchased them?

My google-fu is insufficient to find any online sources to purchase these keyblades now. :( But you could try keeping a look out on auction sites or directing your enquiries to Square Enix's product store staff. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
